In Baton Rouge, winter isn’t just a season; it’s a time of year when community spirit shines brightest. For decades, "Pat’s Coats for Kids" has been on a heartfelt mission to provide a new, warm coat to children in our area who need them most. The program began with the simple goal of ensuring every child is ready to brave the cold—and today, that mission remains just as vital.

While in past years, it only took $20 to provide a child with a coat in their size, rising costs have increased that figure to $25. However, thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the program continues to thrive, bringing warmth to those in need. We’re proud to stand alongside "Pat’s Coats for Kids" and support an effort that goes beyond providing coats; it’s about helping kids start their day warm and ready to learn.
Since its inception, "Pat’s Coats for Kids" has received over a million dollars in donations, allowing them to distribute nearly 290,000 new coats to 135 schools across the area. Additionally, they’ve collected and shared more than 200,500 gently used coats, and in 2023 alone, the program was able to fulfill the need for 7,500 children in our community.
From December through April, many children in Baton Rouge face the chill without adequate clothing, starting their day at a cold bus stop or in a classroom where they struggle to focus until they "warm up."
