Did you know that Home Furniture also does a whole bunch to make a difference in our hometowns? Our team loves to find ways to help others at work and in our community.
KPLC’s annual “Pack the Tent” event is one of our recent community outreach initiatives that raised enough funds and food donations to feed the needy in our Lake Charles area for an entire year. Our team assisted in collecting donations from the many generous people who gave non-perishable food items, monetary donations, clothing, and other items. Home Furniture Plus Bedding also made a substantial donation during the event.
This beloved Lake Charles institution has been feeding hot wholesome lunches to hungry people since 1986. Under the leadership of Ms. Pearl Cole, Abraham’s Tent volunteers and supporters help restore supplies that the pantry needs to serve lunch to those in need and those less fortunate. Ms. Pearl and her team serve hot meals six days a week. During hard times, such as recent hurricanes and flooding, Abraham’s Tent will serve upwards of 300 meals per day.
